In the book called GHERANDA SAMHITHA, A yogi explains in fair detail to his student the various methods of yoga which later on is called kriya yoga and people who came later on called this set and phillosphy as Nath sampradaya/school of yoga to distinguish it from what they wanted to teach. By reading this book(and assuming one is regular practioner of yoga/is an 'acharya') one can understand also what the sequence of yoga which should be done if not followed can lead to disjointed energy and one having lop sided development. By following this yoga , one can achieve the saying of yogasya karmasu kaushalam ie by yoga one becomes efficient in action.
