PANCHA MAHABHUTHA TEMPLES OF INDIA: A PLACE AND TEMPLE REVIEW

Hello tribe. Friends, today let us converse about the 5 temples de elementos!

 From my gurus i came to know about pancha mahabhutha temples that are present in South India built under the guidance of stalwarts of indian spirituality including the great SidhaSaptharishi Agatheesha which are present today in modern day Tamil nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The temples are:

Na - Earth- Ekambareshwara

Ma- Water- Jambukeshwar temple

Shi- Fire - Thiruvannamalai

Va- Air/Circulation/Movement - Sri Kalahastheshvara temple

Ya- Space - Chidambaram temple.


I am visiting it in a particular sequence that occured to me: Ya Shi Va Na Ma, the last two is still to go.


Sri Kalahastheshwara temple

Mantra seen: Om Sri Kalahastheshwaraya namaha.

Gurus around: Avadhotha sri sri sri

Mountain type is Volcanic: my interpretation is the mountain must be an extinct volcano, and to commemerate that only we are lighting lamp on mountain top and hence the associated story of brahma and vishnu failing to find the aadhi and anth of shiva.


Sri Ekambaranathar/Ekambareshwar temple

Inner meaning of temple name: Kama-Amba-nathar/eeshwar ie. Eeshwar of Kamachi Devi
